Safe Life Defense is located in Henderson, NV and we manufacture the majority of all our gear in house. All ballistic inserts are constructed and tested at our Henderson facility. Some fabric carriers and accessories are sewn internationally for cost-savings we pass on to our customers.

Ballistic material is tested both by the NIJ for NIJ certification and independently at Oregon Ballistics Lab. We also have a testing facility inside our warehouse for batch testing.

Hyperline is an exclusive ballistic panel created by Safe Life Defense and is widely known as the thinnest and lightest armor on the market today. These vests are NIJ certified and conceal easily under a t-shirt.

Hyperline is made with Dyneema®, DuPont®, Honeywell® and Brookwood® materials. It is Berry Compliant, which means all materials are USA-Made.

Safe Life Defense guarantees the proper fit of your body armor. If you feel your vest does not fit properly, we will exchange your vest. Exchanges must be within 30 days of delivery and in original condition.

Safe Life Defense stands behind our products and your personal protection. In the unfortunate event that you are shot while wearing your vest, we will replace it at no cost as long as a police report is provided during your 5 year warranty.

There is no difference—Level IIIA and Level 3A refer to the same protection standard. "IIIA" uses Roman numerals (the official NIJ designation), while "3A" uses Arabic numerals (common shorthand). Both indicate soft armor rated to stop .44 Magnum and .357 SIG handgun rounds. When shopping for Level IIIA/3A body armor, look for NIJ 0101.06 or 0101.07 certification to ensure it meets the protection standard. HYPERLINE™ by Safe Life Defense is NIJ 0101.06 certified Level IIIA/3A armor.

NIJ Level IIIA body armor stops the following threats: .44 Magnum (240 grain at 1,400 fps), .357 SIG (125 grain at 1,470 fps), .357 Magnum, 9mm (including +P and +P+), .45 ACP, .40 S&W, .38 Special, 10mm Auto, and 12-gauge shotgun (both slugs and buckshot). Level IIIA is the highest soft armor rating—it will NOT stop rifle rounds, which require Level III or Level IV hard plates. HYPERLINE™ Level IIIA also provides multi-hit capability, blunt force protection, and slash resistance.

For protection against handguns and shotguns, Level 3A body armor provides the maximum soft armor protection available. Level 3A stops virtually every handgun round you're likely to encounter, from .22 LR up to .44 Magnum. However, Level 3A will NOT stop rifle rounds—you need Level III or IV hard plates for rifle protection. Most law enforcement officers wear Level IIIA soft armor daily because it offers excellent handgun protection while remaining comfortable for extended wear. If you need rifle protection, Safe Life Defense offers FRAS® flexible rifle armor that can be worn with HYPERLINE™.

The best Level 3A body armor balances protection, weight, thickness, and comfort. HYPERLINE™ by Safe Life Defense is widely considered the best Level 3A body armor because it's the thinnest (0.19") and one of the lightest (0.9 lbs/sq ft) while still meeting full NIJ 0101.06 Level IIIA certification. Key factors to consider: NIJ certification (not just "tested to NIJ standards"), weight per square foot, thickness for concealability, multi-hit capability, blunt force protection (BFD ratings), and warranty. The thinnest body armor we offer is HYPERLINE™ by Safe Life Defense, at just 0.19 inches thick—that's approximately the thickness of five stacked pennies. Despite this incredible thinness, HYPERLINE™ is fully NIJ certified Level IIIA, stopping .44 Magnum and all common handgun rounds. The secret is a proprietary blend of Dyneema®, Kevlar®, and aramid materials combined with an exclusive manufacturing process. Traditional Level IIIA soft armor is typically 0.3-0.5" thick; HYPERLINE™ cuts that by more than half while maintaining full ballistic protection.

The most concealable body armor is soft armor that combines minimal thickness with low weight and flexibility. HYPERLINE™ Level 3A by Safe Life Defense is the most concealable NIJ-certified body armor available: at 0.19" thick and 0.9 lbs per square foot, it's thin enough to wear under a t-shirt without printing (showing visible outline). The Hyper Concealable™ carrier adds just 0.03" and features flat stitching to minimize bulk. For maximum concealability with full Level IIIA protection, HYPERLINE™ is the gold standard.
