Fall is officially here and we’re celebrating the season by honoring and recognizing the brave individuals who serve selflessly to help keep our communities safe. As part of our commitment to those who protect others, we are proud to provide our Guardian Angel Recipients with a FREE HG2 Concealable Level IIIA Multi-Threat Vests, giving them an added layer of protection as they carry out their important work.
These vests provide our Guardian Angels with greater peace of mind and support them in the critical roles they carry out every day.
Please join us in congratulating this month’s outstanding recipients and thanking them for their courage, dedication, and selfless commitment to keeping our communities safer.

CALLIE KRESTA | TEACHER & SCHOOL MARSHAL
I serve our school district of 1,069 students as a school marshal. I teach Biology classes for half the day and for the other half I am walking around our campuses ensuring that all the students are safe. I also serve as armed security for our extra curricular events in the district.
I am a visible armed presence for our school district. I also have 3 young children of my own. Currently I have no armor and our district is functioning in a deficient budget. Therefore they don’t have the money to purchase armor for me.
Owning body armor means that I get some peace of mind that if I am involved in an altercation with a weapon, I would have a better chance of surviving and continuing to be a wife and mom of 3.

ABDUL MUHAMMAD | POLICE OFFICER
As a police officer who works at night, I deal with situations where I don’t always know what I’m walking into. Every shift is different, and calls can go from calm to dangerous very quickly. Having good body armor would give me more protection while I’m doing my job and allow me to focus on the people who need my help. Whether I’m responding to a dangerous call, backing up another officer, or helping someone in the community, this vest would help keep me safe while I’m trying to keep others safe.
I believe I should be selected because this vest would be put to use every time I go to work. I’m still early in my career as a police officer, I work the night shift, and I have a lot of years of service ahead of me. I’m also working toward eventually becoming a member of SWAT, so I’m constantly trying to improve myself and prepare for greater responsibilities. I chose this career because I wanted to help people and be someone others can depend on when things go wrong. Receiving this vest would help protect me as I continue learning, growing, and taking on more responsibility in my career.
To me, owning body armor means having protection when I need it most. Working at night, I never really know what the shift may bring. Some nights may be quiet, while others can change in a matter of seconds. I understand the risks that come with being a police officer, but I also have people who expect me to come home after every shift. This vest would give me another layer of protection so I can do my job, help people, and make it home safely at the end of the night.

VYSON TRIEU | USAF CYBER SPECIALIST
Wearing Safe Life Defense body armor would allow me to remain better protected while helping my family or others during a dangerous emergency. My first priority would always be getting my family to safety, contacting emergency services, and avoiding unnecessary confrontation. Throughout my Air Force service, I have learned the importance of staying calm, thinking clearly, and helping others when situations become stressful or unpredictable. During my deployment, I also volunteered more than 30 hours supporting aeromedical evacuation operations and assisted with nine missions involving more than 130 patients. Those experiences reinforced the importance of being prepared and being able to remain capable when others may need assistance. If an emergency occurred in my home or community, body armor could provide an additional layer of protection while I help move loved ones to safety, provide basic assistance to someone who is injured, or remain protected until law enforcement or emergency responders arrive. I hope I never encounter a situation where the armor is needed, but if I do, I want to be prepared enough to protect my family and still be capable of helping the people around me.
I believe I would be a meaningful recipient because protecting and helping others has been a consistent part of both my military service and my personal life. I currently serve in the United States Air Force as a cyber professional and am preparing to transition from active-duty military service into civilian life. During my deployment, I volunteered to support aeromedical evacuation missions in addition to my normal responsibilities. Those opportunities taught me even more about responsibility, preparedness, and helping people during difficult circumstances. As I enter the next chapter of my life, my greatest responsibility is my family. My family and I want to be prepared to protect them if we ever experience a serious emergency at home or in our community. Receiving a Guardian Angel vest would provide my family with an additional layer of protection while I focus my resources on transitioning careers, establishing our future, and taking care of my family. I would be extremely grateful for the opportunity and would treat the armor with the same responsibility and respect that I have tried to demonstrate throughout my military service.
To me, owning body armor means preparedness, responsibility, and protection. I do not view body armor as something that encourages confrontation. I view it as emergency protective equipment, much like keeping a first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, emergency supplies, or other safety equipment available before an emergency ever occurs. As a husband and military member, my responsibility is to protect and support my family. If a dangerous situation ever occurred, my priority would be getting my family somewhere safe and ensuring that I am still capable of helping them. Body armor would provide an additional layer of protection while doing that. More importantly, it could help reduce the risk of my family losing the person they depend on for protection and support. I sincerely hope I never have to rely on it. However, I strongly believe that responsible preparation should happen before an emergency, not during one.
