At Safe Life Defense, we know that the people who dedicate their lives to protecting others often face challenges that go unnoticed. Every month through our Guardian Angel Program, we recognize individuals who serve their communities and help provide them with life-saving equipment that can make a real difference on the job.
This month, we are proud to support three professionals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to public safety, service, and helping others. From security and corrections to emergency medical services, each of these recipients has chosen a career centered around protecting their communities and making a positive impact on the lives of those around them. We will continue donating FREE HG2 Concealable Level IIIA Multi-Threat Vests to individuals who try to go above and beyond to protect and serve. These HG2 Panels provide top-tier ballistic protection, designed to protect against common handgun and shotgun rounds, as well as strikes and slashes.
Congratulations to our June 2026 Guardian Angel Program winners. If you would like to submit your application click here!

EMILY SULLIVAN | Corrections Officer
In June 2025, I officially began my law enforcement career as a Correctional Officer with the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office. My desire to serve others and help my community is what led me to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice and ultimately a career in corrections. I am excited to continue developing my skills while contributing to the safety, protection, and rehabilitation of those entrusted to my care.
Working in a correctional environment requires confidence, preparedness, and the right equipment. To me, body armor is more than personal protective equipment. It is a valuable tool that allows me to do my job more effectively. Having reliable armor would allow me to carry essential equipment more comfortably, respond to emergencies with greater confidence, and better support my fellow officers when situations become volatile.
I believe proper equipment makes me a stronger partner and a more dependable officer. Having gear I can trust gives me the confidence to intervene when necessary, protect others from harm, and maintain the professional presence that can often help prevent conflicts before they begin. Reliable protection allows me to focus on my responsibilities rather than worrying about whether I have the equipment needed to do my job safely.
As a newer officer, purchasing quality armor has been a challenge. Being selected through the Guardian Angel Program would provide protection that I otherwise may not be able to afford while helping me continue serving my community with confidence, integrity, and dedication.

KOLTON THEDENS | Emergency Medical Technician
As a dual-certified EMT, I am frequently one of the first responders arriving at unpredictable and high-risk emergencies. Wearing body armor allows me to focus completely on patient care instead of worrying about potential threats that may still be present on scene. That added peace of mind helps me remain where I am needed most and continue providing life-saving care when every second matters.
Body armor represents longevity and responsibility to me. It is a commitment to my family that I will do everything possible to return home safely after every shift. It also means taking responsibility for my own safety so that I do not become a second casualty, allowing emergency resources to remain focused on the people who need help.
I serve in Minneapolis, where tensions can sometimes be high and resources are often limited. Unfortunately, ballistic protection is not currently issued by my department, making quality armor difficult to obtain through normal channels. This sponsorship would provide professional-grade protection that would otherwise be outside of my personal budget.
I am committed to this profession for the long term, and having dependable armor would be a significant investment in my ability to continue serving my community safely and effectively for years to come.

NICHOLAS CREWEY | Paramedic
Wearing this armor will allow me to step into high-pressure situations with the confidence that I am protected. By ensuring my own safety, I can focus entirely on de-escalating conflicts and protecting the public during large-scale events. Having reliable protection allows me to be a dependable first responder for my community when situations become unpredictable.
I have spent much of my life serving others as a coach, swim instructor, and mentor, and I am now dedicated to building a long-term career in professional security. While I have invested in firearm training and duty equipment, the cost of quality body armor has remained the final barrier to transitioning into armed security roles. Receiving this donation will help me take the next step in my career while continuing to provide for my family and serve my community.
To me, body armor represents peace of mind for both myself and my loved ones every time I head out for a shift. It is a life-saving piece of equipment that reflects my commitment to the responsibilities and standards of the security profession. Knowing I am protected allows me to perform my duties with the focus, confidence, and professionalism required of armed personnel.
I currently work in event security and am actively pursuing armed positions that will provide greater opportunities to grow within the industry. This donation would remove one of the last obstacles standing between me and my goal of serving my community in a greater capacity.
