April is coming to an end and it's time to acknowledge our Guardian Angel Recipients of the month!
All of our Guardian Angels this month will receive a FREE Concealable Multi-threat Vest Level IIIA. This vest protects against all the most common handguns, shotguns, strikes and slashes, while still being comfortable and easy to wear.
Please help us congratulate Zachary, Jessica and Trace!
#1 Zachary Wellman | Corrections Officer
Zachary's story: "As a Corrections Officer, it is our job to keep inmates safe while in our custody whether at the jail, during transports, in the court room or at the hospital. Wearing Safe Life Defense Body Armor would help me continue to do my job to keep myself safe and our inmates while in my care and while awaiting their trials, as well as have the backs of my fellow officers. Owning body armor would mean so much to me. I have a wife, a 1 1/2 year old daughter (Dylan), and two German Shepherds (Bruce and Clark) who mean the absolute world to me. Keeping myself safe while protecting those in custody and my fellow officers and returning home to my family every day is the most important thing to me."
#2 Jessica Quimby | Animal Control Officer
Jessica's story: "I am an Animal Control Officer with the Humane Society of Elkhart County in Indiana. We are a non-profit organization and right now vests are not in the budget. I have been put in some situations where I would feel a lot safer if I had a vest on. Body armor means that I can feel a little safer while being out in public while wearing my badge. There are a lot of times we are going into peoples houses and not knowing what is around the corner."
#3 Trace Bartley | Mobile Crisis Outreach Team
Trace's story: "I provide crisis intervention for individuals experiencing suicidal ideations, homicidal ideations and psychosis. I work in conjunction with all law enforcement agencies within my five counties as well as EMS. I come into contact with individuals seeking crisis services in many different ways and often I am required to respond by myself to residences without law enforcement presence. Owning body armor means being safe for both myself and my family. There have been many calls I have had to respond to alone where I questioned my safety. I would like to be able to feel safe and focus all of my attention on the task at hand..."
