Body Armor Donation

January 2026 Guardian Angel Winners

As we begin a new year, we will continue our commitment to protecting those who dedicate their lives to protecting others. We are proud to continue our mission to equip everyday guardians with life-saving body armor through our Guardian Angel Program, which we will continue throughout 2026. Our Guardian Angel Program exists to support the individuals who selflessly protect their families, communities, and country, ensuring they have access to the protection they deserve.

We will continue donating FREE HG2 Concealable Level IIIA Multi-Threat Vests to individuals who try to go above and beyond to protect and serve. These HG2 Panels provide top-tier ballistic protection, designed to protect against common handgun and shotgun rounds, as well as strikes and slashes. As we begin the year, please help us congratulate the winners for January 2026 and recognize the important work they do to keep their communities safe. We are proud to support them as we look towards supporting more deserving individuals throughout the year! If you would like to submit your application click here!

Guardian Angel

DYLAN PRICE | Crisis Response Social Worker

As a crisis response social worker in Detroit, and a certified AVERT and CERT instructor, I regularly work with individuals experiencing mental illness, addiction, and emotional crisis. Many of these situations can become volatile without warning. Wearing body armor would allow me to intervene, de-escalate, and protect innocent life with more confidence. Body armor would give me the freedom to focus on helping people instead of worrying about my own vulnerability.

I genuinely believe the lives I am protecting are worth risking my own life for, even though I pray it never comes to that. The added layer of protection that body armor offers could make the difference in a situation where seconds matter, potentially saving my life or someone else’s. Lastly, I put everything I have into what I do. I work hard, I sometimes fail, however I keep pushing forward. If selected, I would make full and meaningful use of this opportunity and prove it was well placed.

Owning body armor is about responsibility and the value of human life. As a father, it means having the best possible chance of coming home to my wife and child. As a crisis worker, it allows me to do my job without hesitation and with confidence in my equipment. As a trainer, it reflects the mindset I try to instill in others: preparation, accountability, and respect for the seriousness of what we do. I would make meaningful use of this protection in both my work and my training. I have been in many difficult situations, primarily through my crisis response work, and I know firsthand how valuable proper protection can be.

JAIME WOOLEY | Teacher and School Guardian

As a teacher participating in the Guardian Program in Salt Lake City, Utah, my role is to serve as a last line of defense in the event of an active shooter. Wearing body armor would significantly increase my ability to protect students and staff if the unthinkable were to occur.

I was selected for the Guardian role because I am a qualified and trusted individual within my school, and one of the few teachers eligible for this responsibility. While teachers should never have to be armed to protect students, this is the reality we face today. I have a real-world and immediate need for this type of equipment, and receiving body armor would directly enhance my ability to survive a dangerous situation and fulfill my responsibility to protect children. This is not theoretical for me. It is a role I have been chosen for and am actively training for.

Owning body armor means peace of mind. It means knowing that I have taken every reasonable step to protect myself so that I can be there for my students and return home safely to my family. It is not about fear, but about responsibility and preparedness in a world that has changed. I truly appreciate the Guardian Angel program and what it represents. It shows that Safe Life Defense understands the seriousness of protecting others while also recognizing that not everyone can afford this type of equipment. Programs like this make a real difference for people who are willing to step into difficult roles for the safety of others.

ZACK CAVINESS | Paramedic

As a paramedic responding to frequent shootings and violent incidents, body armor would allow me to reach patients more safely in high-risk environments. With proper protection, I can focus entirely on providing life-saving care instead of worrying about my own safety. When every second counts, having that confidence allows me to act quickly, decisively, and without hesitation.

I serve as a volunteer paramedic in an area with a high rate of violent crime, yet our department does not have the funding to provide ballistic protection for its members. Despite these risks, I continue to respond because I believe in helping and protecting others. Being selected would not only help keep me safe, but it would also strengthen our small volunteer team’s ability to serve the community with confidence and commitment.

Owning body armor would mean peace of mind for me, my family, and my fellow responders. It represents readiness, safety, and the ability to serve without unnecessarily risking my life. To me, it is more than just equipment. It is a symbol of dedication to helping others, even in dangerous circumstances. I have volunteered as a paramedic for several years and have seen firsthand how much more dangerous our work has become. Receiving this protection would be an incredible blessing and would directly improve my ability to provide critical care in unpredictable environments. Thank you for supporting first responders who continue to serve their communities despite limited resources.
