As February unfolds, we not only celebrate the spirit of love and protection that Valentine’s Day represents, but also we would like to recognize Second Amendment Day as well. Just as we cherish those closest to us, we also uphold the duty to safeguard them and our communities.
Through our Guardian Angel Program, we remain dedicated to protecting those who protect us. This year, we’re proud to continue awarding FREE HG2 Concealable Level IIIA Multi-Threat Vests to individuals who are courageous and serve selflessly. HG2 Panels provide top-tier ballistic protection, designed to protect against common handguns, shotguns, as well as strikes and slashes, these vests give our recipients the peace of mind they deserve in their critical roles.

JAMES UNDERWOOD | Arizona Ranger
I belong to the Arizona Rangers organization, which is 100% volunteer Auxiliary law enforcement. We often work alongside Law Enforcement officers to supplement their workforce, as well as provide security for churches, synagogues and special events throughout the state. Because of the exposure to danger that we face on duty, I can feel more confident working in those high threat environments if I am protected with a ballistic vest.
As an Arizona Ranger, we are expected to provide 100% of our uniforms and equipment at our own expense, which can be difficult for retirees. Due to the nature of some of our duties, I feel that I could perform my job better with the confidence of being protected. With the dangers of our duties and assisting law enforcement, the sense of security I would feel when wearing protection means everything. I know that my family would feel more confident knowing that I will be safer and come home at the end of each shift.
I was loaned a used ballistic vest from the Arizona Rangers a while back, but it has long since expired and they no longer want me to wear it due to the liability. At this time, I am in need of a new vest and would appreciate any assistance your company can provide me. Thank you for your time and consideration.

CESAR HERNANDEZ | Law Enforcement Officer
I work as a patrol deputy for the county of Los Angeles in California. Armor is a critical piece of gear every patrol deputy needs. I will be handling calls for service from the community while wearing Safe Life Defense Body Armor. I believe that I should be selected because I am a good citizen, law enforcement officer, and father. I go to work and live my life doing everything I can for others. I have 3 children and a wife. We started out parenting very young, while we were enrolled in high school. Statistics were against us, however we’ve managed to make our way through the crazy experience we call life. I try to be a good dad daily and a model citizen for our community. The possibility of being considered for receiving this NIJ certified body armor is really cool. It’s humbling seeing you as a business offer this program.
Owning armor gives me piece of mind in knowing I have additional defense should I encounter an individual armed with a gun or knife. In 2022, I was involved in a gun fight with a suspect that tried to ambush and murder a fellow law enforcement partner. During the incident I didn’t think about my body armor but I was there on duty in the first place because of it.
Thank you very much for providing me the opportunity to share a little bit about myself, and thank you for providing everyone with an opportunity to be selected to receive body armor.

Justin Balous | Armed Security Guard
Wearing Safe Life Defense Body Armor would allow me to help others in many ways. I would be able to watch for suspicious activities or potential dangers, making the area safer for everyone. I could control entry points to buildings or events, ensuring only authorized people are allowed in. In case of an emergency, I would act quickly to provide first aid and guide people to safety. I could also manage conflicts or arguments by staying calm and keeping things peaceful. Overall, my presence and actions would help create a safer environment for everyone around me.
I believe I should be chosen because I truly need body armor to take on more job opportunities. Right now, I can’t afford it because of my family’s expenses. Owning body armor would mean a lot to me. It would help me stay safer and increase my chances of returning home to my family each night. It would also allow me to be more effective in my role as an officer, improving my ability to serve and protect others. With the right equipment, I could take on more work to support my family and ensure they are well cared for.
Serving and protecting others is something I am deeply passionate about. I find great fulfillment in knowing that I am making a difference in my community. Whether it’s helping someone in need, ensuring safety at an event, or stepping in to calm a tense situation, my commitment to serving others is what drives me. I want to make sure people feel safe, secure, and protected, and I believe that wearing the right gear is crucial to doing that job well.
I am very grateful for the chance to apply for this support. This opportunity means a lot to people like me who dedicate ourselves to protecting and serving others, even at great personal risk. This help would make a big difference not just in my life, but also in the lives of those I work to protect.
