October 2025 Guardian Angel Winners

This October, Safe Life Defense is proud to continue serving those who serve us through our Guardian Angel Program. Every day, across the country, brave men and women quietly go to work in roles that most people will never fully understand. Whether behind the walls of a maximum-security prison, standing watch in public spaces, or patrolling residential properties, these individuals face very real dangers to protect the communities they serve.

Through our Guardian Angel Program, we remain dedicated to protecting those who protect us. We are proud to continue donating FREE HG2 Concealable Level IIIA Multi-Threat Vests to individuals who are courageous and serve selflessly. HG2 Panels provide top-tier ballistic protection, designed to protect against common handgun and shotgun rounds, as well as strikes and slashes. These HG2 vests give our recipients the peace of mind they deserve in their critical roles.

Working in a maximum-security prison, I face high-risk situations daily. As the A-Team Sergeant, I’m responsible for leading our rapid response team during incidents ranging from medical emergencies to full-scale riots. With Safe Life Defense body armor, I’ll be better equipped to protect not only myself but also my team, fellow staff members, and even the offenders and contractors within our facility. My ability to respond quickly and confidently in dangerous situations depends on knowing I have the right gear backing me. This armor would give me that confidence and protection when seconds count.

I’ve been in this line of work for years and have already been assaulted three times, two of those involving weapons. My job is unpredictable, and the threats are real. As a father of four, my greatest fear is not coming home to my family. My wife and kids have stood by me through it all, and I’ve made them a promise: I will always come home. This armor helps me keep that promise. It’s more than just equipment. It’s a symbol of my dedication to my family and to my duty. I need armor that is spike-resistant because that’s the threat we face most often. This gear would be the difference between walking away from a dangerous situation or not.

Owning body armor would help me to keep my promise to my children “Daddy will always come home. As long as there is air in my lungs and blood in veins I WILL COME HOME TO YOU.”. Every birthday, every holiday, every important milestone, I want to be there. Having this armor increases my chances of being present for those moments. It represents security, preparation, and commitment. For me, body armor isn’t about fear. It’s about readiness. It allows me to do my job more effectively, with the reassurance that I’ve taken every step to make it home safely.

There are few professions where you’re expected to walk directly into danger every day, and corrections is one of them. Most people will never see the inside of a maximum-security prison, but I live it. My team and I face situations that escalate quickly, and we do it without hesitation because we’re trained to protect and serve in a place most wouldn’t set foot in. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to apply for this program, and I want to thank Safe Life Defense not only for considering me but for recognizing the importance of protecting those of us on the front lines.

In my role as a day shift security officer at the public library, I’m the first point of contact for hundreds of visitors each day, including some of our community’s most vulnerable individuals. Many people experiencing homelessness rely on our library for warmth in the winter, shelter in the summer, and basic amenities like water, restrooms, and Wi-Fi. I do everything I can to treat them with respect and offer kindness. Wearing Safe Life Defense armor would allow me to continue helping while also ensuring that I remain protected in potentially dangerous situations. I can’t help others if I’m not safe myself, and this armor would allow me to offer support without sacrificing my own security.

I always aim to be professional, presentable, and respectful, regardless of the challenges I face. Unfortunately, my company doesn’t provide body armor to unarmed security officers, even though I’m the only full-time public-facing officer in my entire city. Our small security team deals with a wide range of situations, including interactions with individuals recently released from jail or dealing with addiction and mental health crises. I love what I do, but I need more protection to do it well and continue showing up every day. As a father, a husband, and a part-time college student at 44, I simply can’t afford quality armor on my own. This gift would mean the world to me and my family.

Owning body armor means being able to go to work with peace of mind. It means my wife and kids don’t have to worry about me as much. And personally, it means I can keep doing what I love, serving the public, without the constant fear of what might happen during one of those difficult encounters. Owning this armor would be a game-changer for me. It wouldn’t just offer physical protection. It would allow me to focus more on helping others, knowing I’ve done what I can to protect myself.

Thank you for offering this program. Just the chance to apply means so much. I’m currently going through my local police department’s Citizens Academy. This kind of support helps people like me, who are on the front lines in quiet, often overlooked roles, feel seen and valued. I hope to continue giving back to my community for years to come, and this armor would help me do that more safely and effectively.

Every shift I work is about protecting the people around me. As an armed security officer, I’m often the only barrier between threats and those trying to live peacefully in the places I protect. Wearing Safe Life Defense body armor would allow me to respond to situations with confidence, knowing that I have a reliable layer of protection. It means I can stay calm and focused under pressure, whether I’m de-escalating a confrontation or stepping into a potentially dangerous scenario. I can’t always predict what will happen, but I can be prepared, and that preparation helps me keep others safe.

I’ve done everything I can to try and afford a proper vest, but with the rising cost of living and unexpected expenses constantly coming up, it just hasn’t been possible. I’m doing everything I can to stay safe and do my job well. As an Armed Security Officer, I would wear this vest proudly and make sure it was used the way it’s meant to be: to keep someone safe while they’re protecting others.

To me, owning body armor means safety. It means I can do my job without second-guessing my equipment. It would give me the ability to step into tough situations with more peace of mind. I’ve had to defend myself multiple times in this line of work, and knowing that I have protection makes a big difference, not just physically but mentally. I’ve always wanted to do my best to protect others, but right now I’m doing it without the right gear. Owning quality body armor would be a huge step forward for me.
