MATTHEW ROUTLEY | Diesel Mechanic and Reserve Police Officer

Wearing Safe Life Defense body armor will enhance my ability to serve and protect the community of Grant more effectively. As a reserve officer in a small department with limited resources, we are often expected to supply our own equipment. This can be particularly challenging for me as a full-time college student, as I currently don’t have the financial means to invest in essential protective gear like an armor vest.

Having reliable and high-quality armor ensures my safety in potentially dangerous situations, allowing me to focus on assisting citizens and responding to emergencies without hesitation. This protection not only boosts my confidence but also increases my capacity to engage in proactive policing and community outreach, knowing I have the best possible equipment to safeguard myself and, by extension, the public. Receiving a donated armor vest from Safe Life Defense would greatly alleviate this burden, enabling me to dedicate my resources to my education while still fulfilling my commitment to serve and protect my community effectively.

I believe I should be selected as a recipient because the protection provided by Safe Life Defense armor would greatly enhance my ability to serve my community effectively and safely. As a reserve officer in a small department with limited resources, I am committed to volunteering my time and effort to protect the citizens of Grant, MI. However, as a full-time college student, I face financial challenges that make it difficult to afford essential protective gear on my own. Receiving this armor would not only ensure my safety but also allow me to continue my dedication to both my education and my role as a reserve officer. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity and support from Safe Life Defense, and I am committed to using this gift to better serve and protect my community.

Owning body armor means having the confidence and security to perform my duties as a reserve officer to the best of my ability. It represents a vital layer of protection that allows me to focus on serving my community without the constant worry of personal safety. For me, it also signifies the support and trust from organizations like Safe Life Defense, which recognize the importance of equipping officers with the necessary tools to carry out their responsibilities.

This armor would be a symbol of commitment—not just to my safety, but to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Grant. Additionally, it would replace the expired armor I currently have, which is 18 years old and past its 5-year expiration mark. Having up-to-date and reliable protection is crucial, and receiving this armor would ensure I can continue to serve effectively and safely.

I would like to emphasize my deep commitment to serving the community of Grant. Despite the challenges of being a full-time college student, working full time as a diesel mechanic, and serving as a reserve officer, I am dedicated to balancing my education, job, and duties to the police department. The support from Safe Life Defense would not only enhance my personal safety but also allow me to continue making a positive impact in my community. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to apply for this donated armor and appreciate your consideration. Thank you for supporting officers like myself who are committed to protecting and serving their communities.

SARAH BROWN | Correctional Officer II

As a Correction Officer II in the State of Arizona I work in the Super-Maximum Custody in the state. While wearing your Safe Life Defense body armor I believe it’s light weight capabilities are easier on my body to prevent exhaustion, while providing me reassurance, and protection. My ability to escort some of the most dangerous people in Arizona to and from medical facilities and to the rehabilitation services entitled to them allow me to have piece of mind to defend the public.

I feel I should be selected as a recipient because I have upheld my families multi generation values to serve the public and ensure freedom. My Grandfather who turned 98 on the 15th gave me the gift of courage. As an original UDT frog man he had shown me and shared with me the stories of combat and how his bravery saved the life of others. My father PN1 Waldron showed me discipline and how to give back to th3 community. I am now a VFW Representative at my Unit and have been volunteering to help veterans, officers and members of the public and their families gain valuable resources, suicide prevention and care packages to give back to veterans officers and the community, I also volunteer for fundraisers and funerals and any project I can get onto to give back to my community.

Owning body armor offers me safety, reassurance and a blessing that I may come home to my children at night. As a single mother of seven I strive to provide a stable home for my children and return safely.

GUY FALZONE | Armed Security Officer

My dream is to work in schools and to protect children. I recently moved my family to Texas from California where we have opportunities to thrive rather than just survive, and so my son will have opportunities that I didn’t have as a child. Security has become a passion for me and I take pride in the ability to protect others just as I would my family and friends. I was a troubled youth who turned his life around and now I get to live as a man of integrity and dignity, to be a mentor and role model for my son, and to serve my family and community to the best of my ability.

I think I should be selected because I have been offered a position to get my foot in the door with securing schools here in Texas, but I am required to wear concealed armor, which I do not own. I have spent a lot of money on equipment, but unfortunately with relocating and the sacrifices I have made to do so, I have been out of work for nearly 3 months, and cannot afford concealed armor at this time. I don’t want to miss this opportunity to take another step towards my dreams and to continue to grow as a man while serving the children of my community.

Owning body armor would give me more reassurance that I can make it back home to my family at night. It means a bit of strength to stand tall in the face of danger and the confidence to protect the people around me. I feel like this is a long shot because I don’t have the years and years of experience like others might. What I do know is that in the 5 years of security work I’ve done, I’ve busted my butt and have worked very hard to become the best security personnel I can be. I am blessed beyond measure every single day and am full of gratitude for the life I have. I only hope to be able to continue to work and grow and stay humble enough to ask for help where it’s needed. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Congratulations to the winners! I work Corrections for 28 years and finally gotten a slash/puncture proof vest after 20 years. I think that all federal funding that law enforcement and first responders receives should include funding for vests. It’s unacceptable that any LEO and first responder is not protected. God Bless you!
I have 2 of your vests the original concealable IIIA(wasn’t that concealable) for the truck and a tactical vest IIIA+ plus a FRAS plate.
