June 2024 Guardian Angel Winners

June is in full swing, and with it comes the official start of summer! Let’s give a big shout-out to this month’s Guardian Angel winners.

I have recently retired from the Army. I am attending the police academy at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I have been hired as a school and municipal officer. I loved working with soldiers while in the military and look forward to working with youth in my new career. Protecting and guiding our next generation Americans is something very important to me.

I have to purchase all of my professional equipment and have most of it. Much of what I have is hand-me-down gear until I can afford better. I would like a quality vest and prefer not to cut corners with the vest at least. I would greatly appreciate your support. When I am better situated financially, I would gladly give back to this program.

I deployed 3 times in the Army. Once to Afghanistan and twice to Iraq. On my second deployment to Iraq, I was struck in the back plate and neck of my IOTV. The Kevlar stopped the shrapnel from penetrating my body, saving my life.

A vest means the world to me. A vest allowed me to continue the fight and save my crew. A vest from you will allow me to continue the fight and save children, god forbid.

I am a U.S. Marine Combat Veteran. I know firsthand how valuable body armor can be. I am 6 weeks from graduating from our local Police Academy. I am currently going through my background Investigation and plan on receiving my Texas Peace Officer Certification soon, in order to continue my service and protection to my country/citizens. I would be much more safe patrolling the streets with some of your fine equipment.

The city of San Antonio has grown so much in the last few years, crime has risen exponentially in the area. I’m praying for any assistance I can get to protect myself while on duty. I have 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren that I support. My retirement and VA disability aren’t enough so this is the reason I’ve joined a police department.

It will definitely give me peace of mind as I work for my community. It means me coming home to my family. Thank you for this opportunity.
