With the start of the holiday upon us we couldn’t be more excited to announce our Guardian Angel recipients! These remarkable individuals embody the spirit of positive change, consistently demonstrating their commitment to making a significant impact in our communities and across the nation.
All of our selected applicants will receive a FREE HG2 Level IIIA Concealable Multi-Threat Vest. This vest is a leader in safety due to its ease-of-use, comfort level and ballistic rating. It protects against the most common handguns and shotguns, as well as strikes and slashes.
Please join us in congratulating our change-makers: Brianna, Kyle, and Javier! We are honored to have the privilege to outfit people who make it their life’s work to protect others with body armor.

Brianna Corey | Armed Security
Ever since I was younger I knew I wanted to get into law enforcement, I’ve always wanted to do what I could to help others. I feel that with body armor I can continue to help others while also feeling safer myself.
In July of 2023 I was involved in a shooting where I was shot in the stomach, I lost parts of my colon and fractured my hip with the hollow point still being left on my lower back side. I would really love to be selected so both me and my family can have some peace of mind and feel safe about me going back to work as well as relieve some hip pain off of the bullet by moving some of my heavy equipment to a vest instead.
Owning body armor means a lot to me, I have never owned it beforehand and now after being shot I feel having the peace of mind of being able to make it home safely is extremely important especially to my family.

Kyle Snyder | Emergency Medical Technician
I have recently joined New Orleans Emergency Medical Services as an Emergency Medical Technician. New Orleans is known as the shooting and Stabbing capital of the world, not only the civilians but the first responders. Wearing body Armor helps me help people in the vacuity, I’m able to enter a scene with a bit more protection and get the civilians out of the “hot zone” I would also be able to have my partners back in the event he/she was hit, I would be able to extract he/she while being protected.
I should be selected because I know that “scene safety” can never be too safe. Having protection during critical incidents keeps me and others safe. By being protected, I’m able to bestow safety and confidence to any person I come across.
To me owning body armor means safety, security, the ability to remain in the fight, protection, and preservation. I was born to do this job, and I hope that Safe Life can make it a bit more safe for me to continue to provide life saving care to those who need it most.

Javier Mejia-Cuenca | Security Officer
As a Physical Security Guard I find myself constantly being paranoid of my surroundings due to safety concerns. Having a safe life defense armor vest would relieve the stress from my daily work environment. It can add to my performance while on duty. It will also help boost my confidence when deescalating a conflict or argument. Finally, it is a tool! Someone whose job responsibilities are providing security, can greatly benefit from having it.
I am a Young Adult Mexican American Male! Born and Raised in the Bay Area. I am a simple person. My goal is to Start a family with my girlfriend. We are building a life together day by day. I prioritize safety of myself and others such as loved ones. I would like to educate my community of the safety of a Safe life Defense Armor Vest and how having it could be a necessary tool at home, work, and school.
Owning body Armor means I can defend myself if a physical assault occurs. It will be providing me with protection and aid while protecting others. Thank you for your consideration and the opportunity to protect myself while I protect those around me.
