November 2024 Guardian Angel Winners

As we enter the holiday season this November, Safe Life Defense is filled with excitement and gratitude as we announce our Guardian Angel recipients for November 2024! This time of year is all about giving, and we are especially thrilled to honor individuals who embody the spirit of selflessness and positive change in their communities.

Our chosen recipients will each receive a FREE HG2 Concealable Level IIIA Multi-Threat Vest. This vest is a top choice for safety, offering unmatched comfort, ease of use, and superior ballistic protection. It shields against a wide range of handguns, shotguns, as well as strikes and slashes, making it an essential piece of armor for those who dedicate their lives to protecting others.

Please join us in congratulating our incredible Guardian Angels: Aidan, Brayden, and Richard! We are truly honored to support those who make a daily impact in the lives of others, especially during this season of giving. At Safe Life Defense, we are proud to help those who help keep our communities safe, providing them with the protection they deserve.

Guardian Angel November 2024

BRAYDEN WEBSTER | EMS and Reserve Law Enforcement Officer

I will be able to feel safe while conducting my duties as a reserve law enforcement officer and providing medical aid to the members of the community that I am tasked with protecting and helping in their most vulnerable times. I will be able to add an extra layer of protection thus allowing me to aid the members of my community when the harrier situations arise. I would be doing a disservice to my community by not protecting myself to the highest ability, my job is to render aid and protect my community, and I cannot do that if I am injured.

I am a first-generation public safety personnel and am just starting out in my career. My funds are limited between rent, the rising prices of gas and groceries, and trying to support my girlfriend as she goes through school. It would mean a lot to receive a guardian angel vest that I can wear while in my full-time job in EMS and as I get started as a reserve police officer.

Owning body armor means knowing I am putting the best effort in trying to make sure I come home safe to my girlfriend, mom, brother, and other loved ones. It also serves the purpose of allowing me to continue to support myself and family if I am put in a situation where I could potentially get injured; body armor would increase my chances of walking away from dangerous situations.

I have worked in EMS for 3 years now and I am just starting to get into law enforcement as a reserve with a town in my area. I have really enjoyed my time in public safety/ civil service and would like to continue working in these fields!

RICHARD JONES III | Firearms Instructor

I am a small business owner. The name of my company is Bear Ballistics LLC. I am in Palestine, TX. I hold certificates from Texas DPS for School Safety Active Shooter instructor, Texas License To Carry instructor, NRA Basic Pistol instructor, NRA Basic Rifle instructor, NRA Basic Shotgun instructor and NRA Chie Range Safety Officer. COVID nearly closed my training business. Texas passed the permit-less carry law which harmed my business even further. I have struggled to keep the business doors open and I have had to take a side job at the Lakeview Methodist Conference Center mowing for a very minimum wage just to pay my basic bills.

I am receiving more and more calls from people who are in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice academy for prison guards. The class requires students to qualify with a pistol, shotgun and an AR-15. I fear the consequences of being on the range with novice rifle shooters. I simply can’t afford the body armor yet it is drastically needed to protect me so I can provide for my son and myself. My adult child lives with me. He is physically unable to work at all. I need the income to support both of us. Owning body armor would mean the world to me! I could not be fearful on the range instructing one or more students doing live fire drills and qualification on the range. I fear what might happen to my son and myself if I am unable to work or worse due to a gunshot wound.

The Guardian Angel Program was recommended to me by a friend who is a SWAT officer and deputy sheriff in another county here in Texas. He shared with me that there is a possibility of receiving body armor from Safe Life Defense Body Armor. This would be a great benefit to me. I served in law enforcement myself for over 30 years and never had the advantage of owning or being issued body armor. I do not move as fast as I once did. The body armor could save my life while instructing others or protecting others during an active shooter scenario. I have never been a sheep or a wolf. I have always been a sheepdog. If I hear gunfire at the conference center; I will be running towards it, not away from it. Thank you for your time considering my application for the Guardian Angel Program.

AIDAN McCAMANT | Paramedic and Reserve Law Enforcement Officer

Body armor would allow me to assist others more effectively by providing a layer of protection in dangerous or unpredictable situations. As a paramedic, I am often one of the first to respond to emergencies, sometimes arriving at scenes that are not fully secured. With body armor, I could approach these situations with greater confidence, focusing fully on delivering the best possible care without the constant concern for my personal safety. Additionally, as I transition to a role in law enforcement, body armor would be essential in helping me protect and serve the community even in high-risk situations. Ultimately, the armor would enable me to do my job more effectively and protect others while minimizing the risk to my own safety.

I believe I should be selected because I am deeply committed to serving and protecting my community, both as a full-time paramedic and in my pursuit of a career in law enforcement. Every day, I respond to situations that are often unpredictable and potentially dangerous. Body armor would not only protect me in my current role but also prepare me for the next step in my career, where I can make an even greater impact as an officer.

Additionally, receiving this support would ease the concerns of my fiancé and family, who worry about my safety every day. Financial constraints have made it difficult to purchase this essential equipment on my own, so this grant would make a significant difference, enabling me to focus fully on my duties. Ultimately, my dedication, coupled with this vital protection, would allow me to serve my community more effectively and safely.

Owning body armor would mean having a sense of security and peace of mind as I serve my community. As a paramedic, I often enter situations where safety isn’t guaranteed, and the nature of the job means putting myself at risk to help others. Body armor would provide essential protection, allowing me to focus entirely on my duties without the added fear of personal harm.

On a personal level, body armor would also mean that my fiancé and family can feel more at ease knowing I have added protection. The reality of public service is that danger is a part of the job, but this grant would offer the protection that my current budget cannot cover, allowing me to continue helping others with greater confidence. For me, owning body armor isn’t just about personal safety—it’s about ensuring I can be there for others and fulfill my role with the utmost dedication.
